The first truly international dedicated wine exhibition and conference TopWine China 2010 in Beijing ended on June 3rd with an exciting positive response from the industry. There were in total 3450 high calibre visitors of which 3300 were domestic from 111 cities of 29 provinces, and 150 overseas from 20 different countries. This final number of wine trade professionals surpassed all expectations of the organisers, with not only quantity, but quality too! In Beijing TopWine China has established itself straight away as a serious and lucrative port of entry into the highly promising Chinese wine business and catering system. In total there were 53 overseas exhibitors representing world famous vineyards from countries such as France, Italy, Australia, Spain, Germany, Slovenia, Georgia, U.S.A. and Hungary as well as an equal number of Chinese exhibitors, presenting their wines or other wine-relating products during the three days of this debut event. The success of TopWine China is an illustration of how vigorous the Chinese wine market is, and it also demonstrates the growing importance of China as a wine consuming country. China is expected to be the world′s seventh-largest wine consumer by 2013.
