The FAO Food Price Index of the month of May 2022 reached the 158.1 points, which meant an decline of -0.19% in relation to previous mensual index of April, that was 158.4 points (-0.3 pts), and was placed a 10.06% above the annual average of 143.65 points recorded (+14.45 pts).

The highest monthly value achieved throughout the year of 159.7 points was 1.01% higgher than the selected month (+1.6 pts), while the lowest value during the period was 131.8, that is 19.95% lower than the 158.1 points of May 2022 (-26.3 pts).

In relation to the values of the previous year, in May 2022 there was a year-on-year increase of 23.42%, 30 points above the 128.1 pts reached in the same month of 2021.
