The FAO Food Price Index of the month of October 2007 reached the 107.6 points, which meant an increase of 2.48% in relation to previous mensual index of September, that was 105 points (+2.6 pts), and was placed a 14.15% above the annual average of 94.26 points recorded (+13.34 pts).

The highest monthly value achieved throughout the year of 114.4 points was 6.32% higgher than the selected month (+6.8 pts), while the lowest value during the period was 78.1, that is 37.77% lower than the 107.6 points of October 2007 (-29.5 pts).

In relation to the values of the previous year, in October 2007 there was a year-on-year increase of 43.66%, 32.7 points above the 74.9 pts reached in the same month of 2006.
