The FAO Food Price Index of the month of September 2007 reached the 105 points, which meant an increase of 6.17% in relation to previous mensual index of August, that was 98.9 points (+6.1 pts), and was placed a 11.4% above the annual average of 94.26 points recorded (+10.74 pts).

The highest monthly value achieved throughout the year of 114.4 points was 8.95% higgher than the selected month (+9.4 pts), while the lowest value during the period was 78.1, that is 34.44% lower than the 105 points of September 2007 (-26.9 pts).

In relation to the values of the previous year, in September 2007 there was a year-on-year increase of 43.84%, 32 points above the 73 pts reached in the same month of 2006.
