The FAO Sugar Price Index of the month of July 2009 reached the 114 points, which meant an increase of 12.09% in relation to previous mensual index of June, that was 101.7 points (+12.3 pts), and was placed a 1.58% above the annual average of 112.23 points recorded (+1.78 pts).

The highest monthly value achieved throughout the year of 145.6 points was 27.72% higgher than the selected month (+31.6 pts), while the lowest value during the period was 77.4, that is 47.29% lower than the 114 points of July 2009 (-36.6 pts).

In relation to the values of the previous year, in July 2009 there was a year-on-year increase of 29.4%, 25.9 points above the 88.1 pts reached in the same month of 2008.
