The FAO Sugar Price Index of the month of July 2008 reached the 88.1 points, which meant an increase of 17.47% in relation to previous mensual index of June, that was 75 points (+13.1 pts), and was placed a 11.26% above the annual average of 79.18 points recorded (+8.92 pts).

The highest monthly value achieved throughout the year of 90.4 points was 2.61% higgher than the selected month (+2.3 pts), while the lowest value during the period was 72.7, that is 21.18% lower than the 88.1 points of July 2008 (-15.4 pts).

In relation to the values of the previous year, in July 2008 there was a year-on-year increase of 40.06%, 25.2 points above the 62.9 pts reached in the same month of 2007.
