The FAO Sugar Price Index of the month of June 2009 reached the 101.7 points, which meant a increase of 2.31% in relation to previous mensual index of May, that was 99.4 points (+2.3 pts), and was placed a -9.38% under the annual average of 112.23 points recorded (-10.52 pts).

The highest monthly value achieved throughout the year of 145.6 points was 43.17% higgher than the selected month (+43.9 pts), while the lowest value during the period was 77.4, that is 31.4% lower than the 101.7 points of June 2009 (-24.3 pts).

In relation to the values of the previous year, in June 2009 there was a year-on-year increase of 35.6%, 26.7 points above the 75 pts reached in the same month of 2008.
