The FAO Food Price Index of the month of May 2020 reached the 91.1 points, which meant a decline of -1.51% in relation to previous mensual index of April, that was 92.5 points (-1.4 pts), and was placed a -7.16% under the annual average of 98.13 points recorded (-7.03 pts).

This is the lowest record reached in the entire year, presenting a difference of +17.5 points (19.21%) with respect to the highest monthly value of 2020, which was 108.6 points.

In relation to the values of the previous year, in May 2020 there was a year-on-year decline of -3.39%, 3.2 points under the 94.3 pts reached in the same month of 2019.
