The FAO Food Price Index of the month of March 2022 reached the 159.7 points, which meant an increase of 13.1% in relation to previous mensual index of February, that was 141.2 points (+18.5 pts), and was placed a 11.17% above the annual average of 143.65 points recorded (+16.05 pts).

The record of this month was the highest value achieved throughout the year, with a difference of 21.17% above the lowest monthly value , that was 131.8 points (-27.9 pts).

In relation to the values of the previous year, in March 2022 there was a year-on-year increase of 33.98%, 40.5 points above the 119.2 pts reached in the same month of 2021.
