The FAO Food Price Index of the month of February 1999 reached the 58.4 points, which meant an decline of -4.26% in relation to previous mensual index of January, that was 61 points (-2.6 pts), and was placed a 5.85% above the annual average of 55.18 points recorded (+3.23 pts).

The highest monthly value achieved throughout the year of 61 points was 4.45% higgher than the selected month (+2.6 pts), while the lowest value during the period was 51.9, that is 12.52% lower than the 58.4 points of February 1999 (-6.5 pts).
