The FAO Food Price Index of the month of February 2012 reached the 125.4 points, which meant an increase of 2.45% in relation to previous mensual index of January, that was 122.4 points (+3 pts), and was placed a 2.08% above the annual average of 122.84 points recorded (+2.56 pts).

The highest monthly value achieved throughout the year of 125.8 points was 0.32% higgher than the selected month (+0.4 pts), while the lowest value during the period was 115.9, that is 8.2% lower than the 125.4 points of February 2012 (-9.5 pts).

In relation to the values of the previous year, in February 2012 there was a year-on-year decline of -8.87%, 12.2 points under the 137.6 pts reached in the same month of 2011.
