The FAO Food Price Index of the month of February 2011 reached the 137.6 points, which meant an increase of 2.92% in relation to previous mensual index of January, that was 133.7 points (+3.9 pts), and was placed a 4.33% above the annual average of 131.89 points recorded (+5.71 pts).
The record of this month was the highest value achieved throughout the year, with a difference of 12.69% above the lowest monthly value , that was 122.1 points (-15.5 pts).
In relation to the values of the previous year, in February 2011 there was a year-on-year increase of 38.99%, 38.6 points above the 99 pts reached in the same month of 2010.
