The FAO Food Price Index of the month of January 2011 reached the 133.7 points, which meant an increase of 3.4% in relation to previous mensual index of December UNDEF(of) 2010, that was 129.3 points (+4.4 pts), and was placed a 1.37% above the annual average of 131.89 points recorded (+1.81 pts).
The highest monthly value achieved throughout the year of 137.6 points was 2.92% higgher than the selected month (+3.9 pts), while the lowest value during the period was 122.1, that is 9.5% lower than the 133.7 points of January 2011 (-11.6 pts).
In relation to the values of the previous year, in January 2011 there was a year-on-year increase of 31.72%, 32.2 points above the 101.5 pts reached in the same month of 2010.
