The FAO Sugar Price Index of the month of September 2010 reached the 138.7 points, which meant an increase of 21.03% in relation to previous mensual index of August, that was 114.6 points (+24.1 pts), and was placed a 5.29% above the annual average of 131.73 points recorded (+6.97 pts).

The highest monthly value achieved throughout the year of 173.8 points was 25.31% higgher than the selected month (+35.1 pts), while the lowest value during the period was 94.1, that is 47.4% lower than the 138.7 points of September 2010 (-44.6 pts).

In relation to the values of the previous year, in September 2010 there was a year-on-year decline of -2.73%, 3.9 points under the 142.6 pts reached in the same month of 2009.
