The FAO Sugar Price Index of the month of February 2006 reached the 111.1 points, which meant an increase of 13.95% in relation to previous mensual index of January, that was 97.5 points (+13.6 pts), and was placed a 21.56% above the annual average of 91.39 points recorded (+19.71 pts).
The record of this month was the highest value achieved throughout the year, with a difference of 55.17% above the lowest monthly value , that was 71.6 points (-39.5 pts).
In relation to the values of the previous year, in February 2006 there was a year-on-year increase of 97.34%, 54.8 points above the 56.3 pts reached in the same month of 2005.
