The FAO Vegetable Oil Price Index of the month of April 2012 reached the 156.29 points, which meant an increase of 2.51% in relation to previous mensual index of March, that was 152.47 points (+3.82 pts), and was placed a 13% above the annual average of 138.31 points recorded (+17.98 pts).

The record of this month was the highest value achieved throughout the year, with a difference of 32.02% above the lowest monthly value , that was 118.38 points (-37.91 pts).

In relation to the values of the previous year, in April 2012 there was a year-on-year decline of -3.99%, 6.5 points under the 162.79 pts reached in the same month of 2011.
