The FAO Vegetable Oil Price Index of the month of March 2012 reached the 152.47 points, which meant an increase of 2.78% in relation to previous mensual index of February, that was 148.34 points (+4.13 pts), and was placed a 10.24% above the annual average of 138.31 points recorded (+14.16 pts).

The highest monthly value achieved throughout the year of 156.29 points was 2.51% higgher than the selected month (+3.82 pts), while the lowest value during the period was 118.38, that is 28.8% lower than the 152.47 points of March 2012 (-34.09 pts).

In relation to the values of the previous year, in March 2012 there was a year-on-year decline of -6.52%, 10.64 points under the 163.11 pts reached in the same month of 2011.
