The FAO Cereal Price Index of the month of October 2005 reached the 62.1 points, which meant an increase of 0.98% in relation to previous mensual index of September, that was 61.5 points (+0.6 pts), and was placed a 2.19% above the annual average of 60.77 points recorded (+1.33 pts).

The record of this month was the highest value achieved throughout the year, with a difference of 4.55% above the lowest monthly value , that was 59.4 points (-2.7 pts).

In relation to the values of the previous year, in October 2005 there was a year-on-year increase of 4.72%, 2.8 points above the 59.3 pts reached in the same month of 2004.
