The FAO Meat Price Index of the month of September 2002 reached the 54.4 points, which meant a decline of -1.09% in relation to previous mensual index of August, that was 55 points (-0.6 pts), and was placed a -1.39% under the annual average of 55.17 points recorded (-0.77 pts).

The highest monthly value achieved throughout the year of 59.1 points was 8.64% higgher than the selected month (+4.7 pts), while the lowest value during the period was 51.1, that is 6.46% lower than the 54.4 points of September 2002 (-3.3 pts).

In relation to the values of the previous year, in September 2002 there was a year-on-year decline of -13.51%, 8.5 points under the 62.9 pts reached in the same month of 2001.
