The FAO Meat Price Index of the month of July 2004 reached the 70.7 points, which meant an increase of 2.76% in relation to previous mensual index of June, that was 68.8 points (+1.9 pts), and was placed a 4.65% above the annual average of 67.56 points recorded (+3.14 pts).
The record of this month was the highest value achieved throughout the year, with a difference of 10.82% above the lowest monthly value , that was 63.8 points (-6.9 pts).
In relation to the values of the previous year, in July 2004 there was a year-on-year increase of 16.86%, 10.2 points above the 60.5 pts reached in the same month of 2003.
