The FAO Meat Price Index of the month of February 2009 reached the 75 points, which meant a decline of -2.98% in relation to previous mensual index of January, that was 77.3 points (-2.3 pts), and was placed a -7.64% under the annual average of 81.21 points recorded (-6.21 pts).

This is the lowest record reached in the entire year, presenting a difference of +10.3 points (13.73%) with respect to the highest monthly value of 2009, which was 85.3 points.

In relation to the values of the previous year, in February 2009 there was a year-on-year decline of -5.66%, 4.5 points under the 79.5 pts reached in the same month of 2008.
