The FAO Meat Price Index of the month of January 2009 reached the 77.3 points, which meant a decline of -4.33% in relation to previous mensual index of December UNDEF(of) 2008, that was 80.8 points (-3.5 pts), and was placed a -4.81% under the annual average of 81.21 points recorded (-3.91 pts).

The highest monthly value achieved throughout the year of 85.3 points was 10.35% higgher than the selected month (+8 pts), while the lowest value during the period was 75, that is 3.07% lower than the 77.3 points of January 2009 (-2.3 pts).

In relation to the values of the previous year, in January 2009 there was a year-on-year decline of -5.27%, 4.3 points under the 81.6 pts reached in the same month of 2008.
