The FAO Meat Price Index of the month of February 2002 reached the 56.6 points, which meant an decline of -3.08% in relation to previous mensual index of January, that was 58.4 points (-1.8 pts), and was placed a 2.6% above the annual average of 55.17 points recorded (+1.43 pts).

The highest monthly value achieved throughout the year of 59.1 points was 4.42% higgher than the selected month (+2.5 pts), while the lowest value during the period was 51.1, that is 10.76% lower than the 56.6 points of February 2002 (-5.5 pts).

In relation to the values of the previous year, in February 2002 there was a year-on-year decline of -7.06%, 4.3 points under the 60.9 pts reached in the same month of 2001.
