The FAO Food Price Index of the month of March 2018 reached the 99 points, which meant an increase of 1.12% in relation to previous mensual index of February, that was 97.9 points (+1.1 pts), and was placed a 3.21% above the annual average of 95.92 points recorded (+3.08 pts).

The record of this month was the highest value achieved throughout the year, with a difference of 7.38% above the lowest monthly value , that was 92.2 points (-6.8 pts).

In relation to the values of the previous year, in March 2018 there was a year-on-year increase of 2.91%, 2.8 points above the 96.2 pts reached in the same month of 2017.
