The FAO Food Price Index of the month of April 2018 reached the 98.6 points, which meant an decline of -0.4% in relation to previous mensual index of March, that was 99 points (-0.4 pts), and was placed a 2.8% above the annual average of 95.92 points recorded (+2.68 pts).

The highest monthly value achieved throughout the year of 99 points was 0.41% higgher than the selected month (+0.4 pts), while the lowest value during the period was 92.2, that is 6.94% lower than the 98.6 points of April 2018 (-6.4 pts).

In relation to the values of the previous year, in April 2018 there was a year-on-year increase of 3.68%, 3.5 points above the 95.1 pts reached in the same month of 2017.
