The FAO Food Price Index of the month of March 2002 reached the 52 points, which meant a increase of 0.58% in relation to previous mensual index of February, that was 51.7 points (+0.3 pts), and was placed a -2.1% under the annual average of 53.12 points recorded (-1.12 pts).

The highest monthly value achieved throughout the year of 56.3 points was 8.27% higgher than the selected month (+4.3 pts), while the lowest value during the period was 50.5, that is 2.97% lower than the 52 points of March 2002 (-1.5 pts).
