The FAO Food Price Index of the month of January 2023 reached the 130.2 points, which meant an decline of -1.21% in relation to previous mensual index of December UNDEF(of) 2022, that was 131.8 points (-1.6 pts), and was placed a 4.58% above the annual average of 124.5 points recorded (+5.7 pts).

The record of this month was the highest value achieved throughout the year, with a difference of 8.14% above the lowest monthly value , that was 120.4 points (-9.8 pts).

In relation to the values of the previous year, in January 2023 there was a year-on-year decline of -3.98%, 5.4 points under the 135.6 pts reached in the same month of 2022.
