The FAO Food Price Index of the month of September 2011 reached the 130.4 points, which meant a decline of -1.95% in relation to previous mensual index of August, that was 133 points (-2.6 pts), and was placed a -1.13% under the annual average of 131.89 points recorded (-1.49 pts).

The highest monthly value achieved throughout the year of 137.6 points was 5.52% higgher than the selected month (+7.2 pts), while the lowest value during the period was 122.1, that is 6.8% lower than the 130.4 points of September 2011 (-8.3 pts).

In relation to the values of the previous year, in September 2011 there was a year-on-year increase of 14.29%, 16.3 points above the 114.1 pts reached in the same month of 2010.
