The FAO Food Price Index of the month of September 2012 reached the 125.2 points, which meant an increase of 1.46% in relation to previous mensual index of August, that was 123.4 points (+1.8 pts), and was placed a 1.92% above the annual average of 122.84 points recorded (+2.36 pts).

The highest monthly value achieved throughout the year of 125.8 points was 0.48% higgher than the selected month (+0.6 pts), while the lowest value during the period was 115.9, that is 8.02% lower than the 125.2 points of September 2012 (-9.3 pts).

In relation to the values of the previous year, in September 2012 there was a year-on-year decline of -3.99%, 5.2 points under the 130.4 pts reached in the same month of 2011.
