The FAO Food Price Index of the month of May 2023 reached the 124.1 points, which meant a decline of -2.82% in relation to previous mensual index of April, that was 127.7 points (-3.6 pts), and was placed a -0.32% under the annual average of 124.5 points recorded (-0.4 pts).

The highest monthly value achieved throughout the year of 130.2 points was 4.92% higgher than the selected month (+6.1 pts), while the lowest value during the period was 120.4, that is 3.07% lower than the 124.1 points of May 2023 (-3.7 pts).

In relation to the values of the previous year, in May 2023 there was a year-on-year decline of -21.51%, 34 points under the 158.1 pts reached in the same month of 2022.
