The FAO Food Price Index of the month of December 2004 reached the 65.6 points, which meant an increase of 0.31% in relation to previous mensual index of November, that was 65.4 points (+0.2 pts), and was placed a 0.05% above the annual average of 65.57 points recorded (+0.03 pts).

The highest monthly value achieved throughout the year of 67.3 points was 2.59% higgher than the selected month (+1.7 pts), while the lowest value during the period was 64.3, that is 2.02% lower than the 65.6 points of December 2004 (-1.3 pts).

In relation to the values of the previous year, in December 2004 there was a year-on-year increase of 5.13%, 3.2 points above the 62.4 pts reached in the same month of 2003.
