The FAO Sugar Price Index of the month of August 2007 reached the 60.7 points, which meant a decline of -3.5% in relation to previous mensual index of July, that was 62.9 points (-2.2 pts), and was placed a -2.7% under the annual average of 62.38 points recorded (-1.68 pts).

The highest monthly value achieved throughout the year of 67.8 points was 11.7% higgher than the selected month (+7.1 pts), while the lowest value during the period was 57.5, that is 5.57% lower than the 60.7 points of August 2007 (-3.2 pts).

In relation to the values of the previous year, in August 2007 there was a year-on-year decline of -27.04%, 22.5 points under the 83.2 pts reached in the same month of 2006.
