The FAO Sugar Price Index of the month of March 2014 reached the 110.8 points, which meant an increase of 7.99% in relation to previous mensual index of February, that was 102.6 points (+8.2 pts), and was placed a 5.32% above the annual average of 105.2 points recorded (+5.6 pts).

The highest monthly value achieved throughout the year of 113.1 points was 2.08% higgher than the selected month (+2.3 pts), while the lowest value during the period was 94.8, that is 16.88% lower than the 110.8 points of March 2014 (-16 pts).

In relation to the values of the previous year, in March 2014 there was a year-on-year decline of -3.06%, 3.5 points under the 114.3 pts reached in the same month of 2013.
