The FAO Vegetable Oil Price Index of the month of February 2011 reached the 175.43 points, which meant an increase of 0.54% in relation to previous mensual index of January, that was 174.49 points (+0.94 pts), and was placed a 12.11% above the annual average of 156.48 points recorded (+18.95 pts).

The record of this month was the highest value achieved throughout the year, with a difference of 27.13% above the lowest monthly value , that was 137.99 points (-37.44 pts).

In relation to the values of the previous year, in February 2011 there was a year-on-year increase of 63.48%, 68.12 points above the 107.31 pts reached in the same month of 2010.
