The FAO Vegetable Oil Price Index of the month of January 2011 reached the 174.49 points, which meant an increase of 4.95% in relation to previous mensual index of December UNDEF(of) 2010, that was 166.26 points (+8.23 pts), and was placed a 11.51% above the annual average of 156.48 points recorded (+18.01 pts).

The highest monthly value achieved throughout the year of 175.43 points was 0.54% higgher than the selected month (+0.94 pts), while the lowest value during the period was 137.99, that is 26.45% lower than the 174.49 points of January 2011 (-36.5 pts).

In relation to the values of the previous year, in January 2011 there was a year-on-year increase of 62.92%, 67.39 points above the 107.1 pts reached in the same month of 2010.
