The FAO Cereal Price Index of the month of May 2016 reached the 91.1 points, which meant an increase of 3.05% in relation to previous mensual index of April, that was 88.4 points (+2.7 pts), and was placed a 3.15% above the annual average of 88.32 points recorded (+2.78 pts).

The highest monthly value achieved throughout the year of 94.1 points was 3.29% higgher than the selected month (+3 pts), while the lowest value during the period was 86, that is 5.93% lower than the 91.1 points of May 2016 (-5.1 pts).

In relation to the values of the previous year, in May 2016 there was a year-on-year decline of -4.81%, 4.6 points under the 95.7 pts reached in the same month of 2015.
