The FAO Cereal Price Index of the month of April 2011 reached the 151.7 points, which meant an increase of 4.26% in relation to previous mensual index of March, that was 145.5 points (+6.2 pts), and was placed a 6.72% above the annual average of 142.15 points recorded (+9.55 pts).

The record of this month was the highest value achieved throughout the year, with a difference of 21.95% above the lowest monthly value , that was 124.4 points (-27.3 pts).

In relation to the values of the previous year, in April 2011 there was a year-on-year increase of 67.25%, 61 points above the 90.7 pts reached in the same month of 2010.
