The FAO Cereal Price Index of the month of March 2011 reached the 145.5 points, which meant an decline of -3.9% in relation to previous mensual index of February, that was 151.4 points (-5.9 pts), and was placed a 2.36% above the annual average of 142.15 points recorded (+3.35 pts).

The highest monthly value achieved throughout the year of 151.7 points was 4.26% higgher than the selected month (+6.2 pts), while the lowest value during the period was 124.4, that is 16.96% lower than the 145.5 points of March 2011 (-21.1 pts).

In relation to the values of the previous year, in March 2011 there was a year-on-year increase of 58.5%, 53.7 points above the 91.8 pts reached in the same month of 2010.
