The FAO Sugar Price Index of the month of August 2021 reached the 120.5 points, which meant an increase of 9.95% in relation to previous mensual index of July, that was 109.6 points (+10.9 pts), and was placed a 10.2% above the annual average of 109.34 points recorded (+11.16 pts).
The highest monthly value achieved throughout the year of 121.2 points was 0.58% higgher than the selected month (+0.7 pts), while the lowest value during the period was 94.2, that is 27.92% lower than the 120.5 points of August 2021 (-26.3 pts).
In relation to the values of the previous year, in August 2021 there was a year-on-year increase of 48.58%, 39.4 points above the 81.1 pts reached in the same month of 2020.
