The FAO Sugar Price Index of the month of December 2019 reached the 83 points, which meant an increase of 4.8% in relation to previous mensual index of November, that was 79.2 points (+3.8 pts), and was placed a 5.59% above the annual average of 78.61 points recorded (+4.39 pts).

The record of this month was the highest value achieved throughout the year, with a difference of 12.93% above the lowest monthly value , that was 73.5 points (-9.5 pts).

In relation to the values of the previous year, in December 2019 there was a year-on-year increase of 6%, 4.7 points above the 78.3 pts reached in the same month of 2018.
