The FAO Sugar Price Index of the month of December 2016 reached the 114.5 points, which meant an decline of -8.55% in relation to previous mensual index of November, that was 125.2 points (-10.7 pts), and was placed a 2.58% above the annual average of 111.62 points recorded (+2.88 pts).

The highest monthly value achieved throughout the year of 137.5 points was 20.09% higgher than the selected month (+23 pts), while the lowest value during the period was 81.6, that is 40.32% lower than the 114.5 points of December 2016 (-32.9 pts).

In relation to the values of the previous year, in December 2016 there was a year-on-year increase of 26.38%, 23.9 points above the 90.6 pts reached in the same month of 2015.
