The FAO Vegetable Oil Price Index of the month of August 2007 reached the 112.8 points, which meant an increase of 3.89% in relation to previous mensual index of July, that was 108.58 points (+4.22 pts), and was placed a 5.11% above the annual average of 107.32 points recorded (+5.48 pts).

The highest monthly value achieved throughout the year of 138.56 points was 22.84% higgher than the selected month (+25.76 pts), while the lowest value during the period was 82.27, that is 37.11% lower than the 112.8 points of August 2007 (-30.53 pts).

In relation to the values of the previous year, in August 2007 there was a year-on-year increase of 53.37%, 39.25 points above the 73.55 pts reached in the same month of 2006.
