The FAO Vegetable Oil Price Index of the month of January 2005 reached the 63.15 points, which meant a decline of -4.35% in relation to previous mensual index of December UNDEF(of) 2004, that was 66.02 points (-2.87 pts), and was placed a -1.94% under the annual average of 64.4 points recorded (-1.25 pts).

The highest monthly value achieved throughout the year of 66.81 points was 5.8% higgher than the selected month (+3.66 pts), while the lowest value during the period was 62.27, that is 1.41% lower than the 63.15 points of January 2005 (-0.88 pts).

In relation to the values of the previous year, in January 2005 there was a year-on-year decline of -11.33%, 8.07 points under the 71.22 pts reached in the same month of 2004.
