The FAO Vegetable Oil Price Index of the month of October 2012 reached the 124.9 points, which meant a decline of -8.79% in relation to previous mensual index of September, that was 136.93 points (-12.03 pts), and was placed a -9.69% under the annual average of 138.31 points recorded (-13.41 pts).

The highest monthly value achieved throughout the year of 156.29 points was 25.13% higgher than the selected month (+31.39 pts), while the lowest value during the period was 118.38, that is 5.51% lower than the 124.9 points of October 2012 (-6.52 pts).

In relation to the values of the previous year, in October 2012 there was a year-on-year decline of -9.49%, 13.09 points under the 137.99 pts reached in the same month of 2011.
