The FAO Cereal Price Index of the month of September 2011 reached the 140.5 points, which meant a decline of -3.04% in relation to previous mensual index of August, that was 144.9 points (-4.4 pts), and was placed a -1.16% under the annual average of 142.15 points recorded (-1.65 pts).

The highest monthly value achieved throughout the year of 151.7 points was 7.97% higgher than the selected month (+11.2 pts), while the lowest value during the period was 124.4, that is 12.94% lower than the 140.5 points of September 2011 (-16.1 pts).

In relation to the values of the previous year, in September 2011 there was a year-on-year increase of 11.6%, 14.6 points above the 125.9 pts reached in the same month of 2010.
