The FAO Cereal Price Index of the month of May 2021 reached the 133.7 points, which meant an increase of 5.94% in relation to previous mensual index of April, that was 126.2 points (+7.5 pts), and was placed a 1.95% above the annual average of 131.14 points recorded (+2.56 pts).

The highest monthly value achieved throughout the year of 141.4 points was 5.76% higgher than the selected month (+7.7 pts), while the lowest value during the period was 123.9, that is 7.91% lower than the 133.7 points of May 2021 (-9.8 pts).

In relation to the values of the previous year, in May 2021 there was a year-on-year increase of 36.43%, 35.7 points above the 98 pts reached in the same month of 2020.
