The FAO Cereal Price Index of the month of April 2005 reached the 59.5 points, which meant a decline of -3.25% in relation to previous mensual index of March, that was 61.5 points (-2 pts), and was placed a -2.09% under the annual average of 60.77 points recorded (-1.27 pts).

The highest monthly value achieved throughout the year of 62.1 points was 4.37% higgher than the selected month (+2.6 pts), while the lowest value during the period was 59.4, that is 0.17% lower than the 59.5 points of April 2005 (-0.1 pts).

In relation to the values of the previous year, in April 2005 there was a year-on-year decline of -15.24%, 10.7 points under the 70.2 pts reached in the same month of 2004.
