The FAO Cereal Price Index of the month of February 2002 reached the 50.4 points, which meant a decline of -2.51% in relation to previous mensual index of January, that was 51.7 points (-1.3 pts), and was placed a -9.31% under the annual average of 55.58 points recorded (-5.18 pts).

The highest monthly value achieved throughout the year of 64.4 points was 27.78% higgher than the selected month (+14 pts), while the lowest value during the period was 49.3, that is 2.23% lower than the 50.4 points of February 2002 (-1.1 pts).

In relation to the values of the previous year, in February 2002 there was a year-on-year decline of -4.91%, 2.6 points under the 53 pts reached in the same month of 2001.
