The record of this month was the highest value achieved throughout the year, with a difference of 11.28% above the lowest monthly value , that was 79.8 points (-9 pts).

In relation to the values of the previous year, in August 1996 there was a year-on-year increase of 1.95%, 1.7 points above the 87.1 pts reached in the same month of 1995.
