The FAO Meat Price Index of the month of May 2010 reached the 89.8 points, which meant a increase of 0.34% in relation to previous mensual index of April, that was 89.5 points (+0.3 pts), and was placed a -1.33% under the annual average of 91.01 points recorded (-1.21 pts).

The highest monthly value achieved throughout the year of 97.4 points was 8.46% higgher than the selected month (+7.6 pts), while the lowest value during the period was 85, that is 5.65% lower than the 89.8 points of May 2010 (-4.8 pts).

In relation to the values of the previous year, in May 2010 there was a year-on-year increase of 11%, 8.9 points above the 80.9 pts reached in the same month of 2009.
